Based on a 2020 Reddit leak, the game will be set in the 1970s/80s period and feature a single, male protagonist, Ricardo. The protagonist is a drug lord-wannabe. The game will also feature another important character called Kacey. According to that leak, you will start as a smuggler from Vice City digging your way up. You will carry out some missions for the Madrazo family involving other gangs. The story will also focus on topics like the immigration crisis and HIV.
The latest 2021 leaks, state that the game will be set in a modern-day version of Vice City. Also, the game will have more than one playable protagonist. This will also include a “tech-savvy woman”.
It is interesting to notice that Rockstar hasn’t ruled out the idea of using multiple protagonists for its future titles – copying the GTA 5 trio.
What has Rockstar said about GTA 6?
In 2013, in an interview with Develop magazine, the former President of Rockstar teased the next entry in the series.
He said that they don’t know what GTA 6 will be like, but they do have some idea. He mentioned that they have got about 45 years’ worth of ideas to choose from.
According to Benzies, the former President, the idea is the most important thing. It helps them decide where the game will be set, what missions it will have, and other important things that are relevant to the game.
In short, Benzies didn’t reveal much about GTA 6. Just so you know it took more than 1000 developers from around the world to create GTA 5. So no matter what they do, they won’t dare to change the template of the game.
